Dr. Neil Haney


Dr. Haney is from The Pas, Manitoba, and joined Heritage Optometric Clinic in 2010.

He received degrees in Biochemistry and Honours Biology from the University of Winnipeg in 2001. Dr. Haney also gained research experience at CancerCare Manitoba, which included the study of genetic malformations of the eye during early development.

Dr. Haney received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2008. He completed his Ocular Therapeutics externship at the Parkland State Hospital in Dallas, Texas and gained clinical experience working at full-scope private practices in Calgary and Victoria before graduating.

Dr. Haney is an active member of the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Optometrists, as well as the Ottawa Society of Optometrists.

He loves to travel, and spent a year teaching English in southern Japan. In his spare time, Dr. Haney enjoys cooking, watching The Agenda with Steve Paikin on TVO, and playing sports, including hockey, soccer, golf, and aikido.
