Dr. Amlani received her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Medical Science from the University of Guelph in 2015. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2020, graduating on the Dean’s Honours list.

During her optometry program, Dr. Amlani was the president of UWOSS (University of Waterloo Optometry Student Society) and mentorship director for CAOS (Canadian Association of Optometry Students). Her involvement in these organizations is what led to her receiving the Federation of Students Engagement award for her extensive contributions towards enhancing student life. Dr. Amlani also had the opportunity to participate in a mission trip to Peru with VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity). Not only did she get to provide eyecare to a small, rural community in Peru, she had the opportunity to explore the beautiful country with her optometry classmates.

When Dr. Amlani isn’t taking care of eyes, she can be found spending time outdoors, doing yoga, or travelling.

Being born and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Amlani is excited to be starting her eyecare career close to home! Dr. Amlani is an active member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ottawa Society of Optometrists.

Thank you to all of our patients for your continued support and advocacy. We are happy to announce that we are resuming eye exams for ALL OHIP-insured patients as the Ontario Association of Optometrists and provincial government agree to enter into formal negotiations.

We ask that you remain patient as we work through the backlog of appointments that were either cancelled or rescheduled. Our staff will be contacting ALL patients who have been added to our cancellation lists due to the job action to prioritize their appointments. We will continue to triage emergency visits and try to accommodate where possible.

Thank you again to all of our patients, we are excited to see you all soon! We ask that you continue to treat our staff respectfully as they work diligently to ensure that everyone is seen in a timely manner.
